This is "Origin" a work of art by artist Daniel Lee. It is a series of manipulated images describing human evolution as imagined by the artist. He proposed ten stages from the fish form(as coelacanth) eventually transforming to reptiles, apes and humans. It was first shown at O.K. Harris Gallery during June/July, 1999 in New York City, as a sequence of eleven pieces, 37.5 x 50 inches digital prints, along with an animated presentation.

These are the twelve stages: inluding a starting empty one:

Daniel Lee's art is deeply inspired by the conjugation of man with animals, the so-called "Manimals", to such an extent that all his amazing production seems to explore this concept, in a lot of surprising ways. You can see what I'm speaking about on his official website: DanielLee.com
