A cargo Ship and a Tanker collided today in the waters off Dubai due to the fog.
The tanker, a Maltese-flagged vessel called the Kashimir built in 1998, had been carrying about 30,000 tons of oil condensate, a material used to make plastic.
It has been carrying the £6million cargo from Iran to the United Arab Emirates port of Jebel Ali.
The second ship was a container vessel called Sima Buoy. Incredibly, despite being torn apart by a spectacular fire, the tanker stayed afloat and the crew on the tanker escaped without any major injuries. Two sailors had to be plucked from the water by after jumping overboard.
The blaze, which could be seen from miles around, was put out by firefighters after a three-hour battle.
