The man who built Noah's Ark in Holland

By Guido Trombetta on 9:56 AM ,

What is the Ark (or its perfect replica...) for, moored in Holland??
Following in Noah's footsteps, Dutchman Johan Huibers is ready for any floods Holland may experience - thanks to his own special ark he built after a premonition of his homeland flooding... yes, it could remind you more or less the plot of the movie Evan Almighty... but this is for real!
Huibers built the replica of his 68 metres - three-quarters of the length of a football pitch, Noah's Ark with cedar and pine using modern tools .
"In 1992, I had a dream that Holland will become flooded. The next day, I found a book about Noah's Ark in the local bookshop, and since then, my dream has been to build the Ark," says Huibers.
Environmental campaigner Al Gore predicts low-lying Holland will flood in future due to global warming so Huibers' premonition could be more than a difficult digestion nightmare... What is for sure is that Mr.Huibers could even be a clairvoyant but for sure he is a business man infact after two years building the Ark, he opened its doors to the people in the town of Schagen, north Holland. Visitors were stunned. Life-size models of giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, zebras, bison and other animals greet tourists. Then the ark started sailing to cities in Netherlands, Germany and Belgium carrying live and stuffed animals, as well as religious information.

That is amazing to see what the Lord did through Noah and to see what it looked like. The real Noah's ark was found in Turkey and I have seen pictures of that too! The government started to build a visitors center for Noah's Ark but had to shut it down due to turmoil and fighting in the country.

To the man who has built Noah's Arc:

I am one of five that make up my family, I am somewhat a Nichola Tesla and John Bedini whereas I make free energy devices using solid state magnets and copper coils. Amongst other talents that I possess which are very vast having to do with everyday living. I see you have built an arc, my family and I are people of god and would like to find refuge with you on this ship. We know the end of days are here and I possess so much knowledge having to had worn many hats in my life, I feel I would have a lot to offer in the New World to get it started in the right direction without having to kill the earth's natural resources.
If your reason for building this arc is to flee with the coming of the end of the world (the shifting of the poles), I would like to ask for sanction for me, my wife, my mother and my two children.

    Sincerely,

Wow. The fact that this man built such a huge and impressive piece of maritime lore is incredible! Well done!

As for all you people commenting, it's utterly tragic, for one, that some of you have the audacity to outright bash another person's faith as ignorance. Especially as, invariably, none of you seem to have the native intelligence to use proper grammar or spelling. Right. They're the dumb ones. Hmm.

Ultimately, how can any of you say that there is no God? Just because you can halfway read a science book and halfway understand the concepts therein. If you don't mind my asking, though I know this is futile, how do you explain the Big Bang? Matter spontaneously comes into being because of a massive and utterly undefinable burst of energy that came from nowhere? For the record, not only do I believe in the Bible, but I also believe in science, as a well educated person.

But how, in your minds, is taking the Big Bang as fact not also a leap of faith? You have no proof, at least none that any of you can comprehend, of what existed before, or how the universe came into being. I daresay if any of you anonymous, ignorant fools who think that randomly touting off at people who believe differently from you is an expression of your open mindedness, I've got to tell you, you are grossly mistaken as your ignorance is blatantly obvious and your bigotry is pitiable.

Grow up and read a book.

    This ship is a REPLICA!!

If you look at the picture of the man constucting it, it looks like how you build a timber frame house.

This ship is NOT sea worthy let alone FLOOD worthy.

It would be interesting to know if it's built to the same diamentions as the one in the bible.

I do believe in god, but find it quite hard to believe that 2 of each animal could even fit on a boat like this. Let alone all the food that you would need for the animals and Noah's family.

I do believe that there was a Ark and Noah and his family.
But that the story of the flood just represents a long journey at sea, to discover new land.

The story of creation is telling you how humans populated the world.

built like a cheap house on a flat barge, wouldn't survive a rough lake let alone an ocean. also not true size, it should be at least twice as long.
what a waste of time and money, when it could have been spend more wisely on helping people who really need it instead of fulfilling a schizo's dream...

Seems like he built it on top of an existing modern pram or boat...

That probably makes a huge difference, since the wood part is more or less a wooden house on top of a boat, making it more a house boat than an actual ark built from nothing...

To the second commenter who says (as if it is a fact) that the real Noah's ark has been found in Turkey: This is what some people believe, but it is not proven. The ark has not been excavated. The people who claim that they are 99% sure that they have found the ark, are evangelical Christian explorers, not a team of skilled scientists (as historians and archeologists, who are the ones best equipped to do such work)... Don't forget that the ark has been "found" several places before, one being in Iran. Scientists do not take this "find" more seriously than the previous ones. There is no proof of this being the ark at all, at least not at this time. The wooden structures they have found, may be something else.

I think it is sad to read some of the comments here, where people are disrespectful towards other people's faith. Just sad! No wonder we have war and all kinds of troubles in this world, when people can't even show each other such fundamental respect...

As for the man who built this, great job your vision is respected. But on the other hand i do think that money would have been well appreciated in a country where children are dying from hunger & unclean water. But i say let the past remain the past,it's enough for me to know that there was such a man named Noah, who had the smarts and strength to build such a masterpiece,& what a honor to have been spoken to directly from God. I have read the earlier comments & it appears to me that there are the same kind of negative & blinded people today, that Noah delt with. The same kind of mockery from his own friends, but perhaps if they wouldn't have been so busy in their ignorance & sin they may have been saved. It is so unfortunate to me that there are human being in this world that have the nerve to think that it is because of themselves they are living. Well if this is so,make a woman pregnant, make the baby develop give it sight, make its heart beat, make its bloood, skin, organs, lungs, then last tell me how you make a person live in water for 9 months & live because i can't stay underwater for 10 mins without dying!!!! Wow the nerve to say there is no God,all i have to say is when your on your death bed, I'll bet you'll begin to rethink that comment. Living a life without Christ, how miserable!!!!

Every god you can think of is real. Let yourself go to the belief of that and feel the relief. You don't have to pick a religion or join a group. You just need to give up the idea that you are running your own show. You'll know god is real when you give up your ego. It's all good if you don't get it. Not cool to criticize those who do. We're more alike than different. God be with you.
