Qingdao surrounded by algae

Qingdao from the satellite

We've already spoken about this.
I just wanted to show this interesting satellite view of Qingdao encircled by huge algae masses. Click here for more info.

  1. Wow, no wonder they were hauling tons of this crap out the water near beijing before the olympics. Maybe our planet is in for a new evolutionary shift, where these organisms (plants like algea as well as bacteria) feed off our pollutants and eventually become the main "life" of our planet - therefore eliminating the diverse, complicated life we've seen uniquely on earth and reverting to a less unique collection of simple lifeforms seen fossilized on other planets... I love your blog by the way, the sea is one of my greatest interests and I hope to experience as much of it as possible before me or it's time runs out.
