Rolex Ilhabela Sailing Week 2009

Last week we (Carlo Borlenghi and me) have been in that paradise on earth that's Ilhabela, Brazil, for the Rolex Ilhabela Sailing week 2009. It has been a return for us because we already went there one year ago for 2008 edition. We've fallen in love again for this place, brazilian people and food and obviously the regattas, especially the long distance one that reach the little island called Alcatrazes, a place you should see to believe it... something, so wild and untouched that seems come out from a Jurassic Park movie.

Alinghi 5 launched by helicopter

To lift a huge catamaran you need a huge a huge helicopter and this is what has happened. At 16:00 this afternoon, Alinghi 5, the Swiss America’s Cup Defender’s new catamaran, was lifted out of the tent where it was built in Villeneuve, Switzerland, and into the air by a Mil Mi-26 helicopter, the biggest and most powerful in the world, to be launched on Lake Geneva.
